Coffee, Cakes and Journals (CCJ) started out as a casual journalling meetup organised by Desy (she/her) from Cute Stickers Only and Leo McJames (she/her). We are two journallers based in South Wales who love to meet fellow journallers, planners or sticker collectors alike and spend a cosy afternoon chatting about all things stationery over coffee and cakes!
We had our first meetup in October 2025 and tend to meet monthly in Cardiff. Everyone is welcome - those outside of South Wales are free to join too!
After causing some serious FOMO for our planner friends farther afield, we decided to share the love and organise a bigger meet so everyone from all over the UK can join in on the fun! Come to Cardiff and join us in 2027!

Desy (she/her)
Desy is a kawaii artist & sticker shop owner at Cute Stickers Only! She is a neurodivergent Asian woman in her 30s and has been journalling since 2021.
She currently journals in vertical weeklies using a Sterling Ink B5 Common Planner. She is a proud washi collector and team sticker hoarder!
When she lived in Belfast, she co-organised Women Techmakers conferences for 3 years and Women Who Code community meetups for 2 years before starting her own public speaking meetup The SPUDS which she ran for nearly 2 years before relocating. She's excited to bring that same passion for community-building and event organising to the journal & planner community!

Leo has been "into" stationery as long as she can remember. Some earliest memories include finding stationery shops on summer holidays in France, and stocking up on pretty school stationery!
Her journey to journalling and planning has been a little circuitous: starting with Project Life scrapbooking, through cards and papercraft, and then to journalling in July of 2025.
She currently has a whole ecosystem of journals and planners but predominantly journals in an A5 dot grid. She is a collector of pens in all the colours (except maybe blue, and black!) and is also very firmly on team sticker hoarder!

Bearista is the official mascot, and creative host of Coffee, Cakes and Journals! Hand-drawn with love, this little bear is entirely fueled by cosy lo-fi beats, freshly brewed coffee, and the perfect matte sticker sheet.
When Bearista isn't in the café, brewing up their favourite artisanal drink (a vanilla latte!), you can find them carefully curating our event menu - from organising the perfect social journalling spaces to inviting the best small business vendors to Cardiff.
Whether you need a pen recommendation, a slice of cake, or just a cosy spot to plan your week, Bearista is here to welcome you to the table. Look out for them popping up all over our event layout and exclusive stationery goodies!
